Regular visits to the eye doctor are essential to protecting your vision. Routine eye care helps uncover vision problems, eye diseases, and eye conditions that can lead to vision loss. At Devine Eyes, we offer personalized eye care services to children, teens, and adults in Columbia, SC, and the surrounding areas. From comprehensive eye exams to contact lens fittings to the management of eye diseases, there’s no better place than Devine Eyes to meet your family’s optometry needs.
Devine Eyes was founded in 2003 by Dr. Jeffery S. Pockl and Dr. David J. Matthews, two highly respected doctors in the optometry field. Dr. Pockl has ample experience in primary eye care, low vision, and contact lens exams and fittings while Dr. Matthews is well versed in the area of eye diseases. Together with our optometry team, we’re committed to providing the vision care services you need.
At Devine Eyes, we personalize our services to suit the needs of your family. Our comprehensive eye care services range from vision and eye health tests to providing prescription eyewear to the management of eye diseases.
Eye Exams: During a comprehensive eye exam, we will test your eyes for visual clarity, eye-focus, and eye movement. We will also evaluate your eyes for signs of eye conditions and diseases. Our eye doctor will assess your visual acuity to determine if you have refractive errors that are impairing your vision. These refractions can be corrected with prescription eyewear to maximize your visual clarity.
If you show signs of eye disease, we will recommend treatment and provide valuable counsel on managing your symptoms to avoid permanent vision loss.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings: For those who prefer contacts to prescription eyeglasses, we offer contact lens exams and fittings to make it easier to obtain the contacts you want and need. We carry a wide range of contacts to facilitate our patient’s needs. These include soft daily wear contacts, rigid gas-permeable (RGP) contacts, extended-wear, disposable contacts, and more. Our optometrist will explain the pros and cons of each so you can make knowledgeable contact lens decisions.
Prescription Eyeglasses & Sunglasses: We offer the latest styles in designer frames and high-tech lenses to help you find prescription eyeglasses you are comfortable and happy with. By opting for photo-chromatic lenses, your prescription eyeglasses can double as sunglasses when you’re out in the sun. We also carry stylish non-prescription sunglasses to protect your eyes against the sun’s UV rays.

I absolutely LOVEDDD my experience with Devine Eyes. From the time I walked in Kelly made sure to greet me with a smile and made sure I was fully versed on how the process would be. Michelle was the tech that did the pictures and test of my eyes. She was wonderful and made sure I was prepared and aware of all the test and why they were needed. The doctor was nice and personable and didn’t hit me with jargon. Then I met Jackie, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FANASTIC!!! Jackie made me feel so special and and took her time with me while we selected a pair of frames. She treated my experience like she was choosing a pair of frames for herself. Jackie definitely took my office visit NEXT LEVEL!! I would 100% recommend this staff and establishment to anyone looking to for a genuine, unique and professional experience. Thank you guys!...
The staff here is so friendly and accommodating. They were able to fix a pair of my sunglasses on the spot. It saved me the trouble of having to mail them in to be repaired. Customer service like theirs is hard to find! Thank you so much and I will definitely be back.
very quick and very helpful. staff was very friendly
Great staff and Doc is awesome. After trying several other docs to get contacts Dr was only one who worked with me and tried several different ones before we got the right combination. I'm surprised at reviews saying they are rude as they've never been anything but nice to me. I've needed some repairs to my glasses which were done at no charge. These were glasses purchased from them....
